Lisa Bengston has been with the Royal BC Museum since 1991. She holds a master of Art conservation degree with an objects specialization from Queen’s University and a BSc in home economics with a textiles conservation specialization from the University of Alberta.
Lisa has worked on many successful collaborative projects with the museum. She was head conservator on a number of exhibitions including For Valour, Curiosities at the Wing Sang satellite gallery, and Artifact or Artifiction?, as well as upgrades to the archaeology permanent gallery, Helmcken House and St. Ann’s Schoolhouse. Lisa was traveling conservator with the Treasures of the Tsimshian exhibition. She has also organized several conservation workshops.
Lisa has presented papers at conservation conferences, the Port Alberni Museum, the Victoria Paleontological Society, the University of Victoria and the Royal BC Museum. She was the senior site conservator at the UBC Stymphalos Project in Stymfalia, Greece (2000–2002) and at the Queen’s University Humayma Excavation Project, in Humayma, Jordan (2012).
